    Need bridge

    CAUSTIC: EAT AWAY::
    hormone: inhibit
    reagent: bind
    explosive: destroy
    synthetic: substitute
    desiccant: dry

    I came to final answers as C,E but not able to choose one from the given two choices, please give the bridge

    A caustic substance eat away

    An exploseive material destroys( i thought this is the best answer)

    A desiccant substance is used to dry out materials ( but not the intricate character is "drying", where the intricate character in C is destroying, so i derived to C, but Official Answer is E, please give me the bridge....)

    An explosive will explode, it will not necesarily destroy, whereas a dessicant, by definition, will dry. So, something that is X will Y.

    I would like to add that something Caustic Eat Away in a progressive way as something Desiccant Dries in a progressive way. On the other hand an explosion not destroy in a progressive way but at once!
    Thus, answer must be E. I hope it helps... Cheers!
