annex: : something annexed as an expansion or supplement: as a : an added stipulation or statement : APPENDIX b : a subsidiary or supplementary building or structure : WING

postscript: : a note or series of notes appended to a completed letter, article, or book

So I think the topic want to tell us that annex is a addition in building, and postscript is a appedage in writing. Thus the answer D is probable.

Afterthought:1 : an idea occurring later
2 : something (as a part or feature) not thought of originally : something secondary

afterthought is not a additional mind actually, as a matter of fact, it is a regret or something that we thought after finishing a question, or something.

I am trying hard to grasp that Annexe is something added to a building. Could you please clarify this, if possible?

Thanks!

annexe: chiefly British variant of 2ANNEX

This is the meaning of MW, so there is not problem of grasping here. We can see a flag or a statue would become a appendage of a building.

for the ANNEXE : POSTSCRIPT, why C is not the best? I'd go with the OA.
