Question new questions...

DAB
A coat thoroughly
B proceed rashly
C comprehend fully
D mix vigorously
E dry slowly

I don't have an OA for this one....help me...
And another one :

METICULOUSNESS : CURSORY
A conscientiousness : hesitant
B condescension : arrogant
C indolence : dilatory
D geniality : acrimonious
E malice : devious

hesitating between B and D... any one can figure this one out?

DAB : 1. Apply (usually a liquid) to a surface
2. Hit lightly, and also can be used as noun.
E seems a good choice for me. (There may be even better choice)
----------------------------------------------------------------
In this analogy B cannot be the answer. X : Y are antonym and B has similar words.

D is much better.

I request others to come up with some answers.

Thanks

According to me:

The answer is A for the first one. Since DAB is to touch lightly a surface with liquid or otherwise. Hence, the answer that best fits as an antonym would be A.

A for the second one. Since the relationship between the two is a little more than "just antonyms" according to me. A person exhibiting meticulousness is not cursory and a person exhibiting conscientiousness(willingness) is not hesitant.

My two cents worth!

condescension can be both voluntary descent from one's rank, and a patronizing attitude
the first explanation seems antonym to arrogant ....

@Fredrichodie: Your last post is not all that clear... What is it that you are trying to say?

I mean... condescension can be both "sincerely humbleness" and "affected patronizing"... am I right?
and then humble and arrogant is antonym...

Correct! Although, what I meant when I asked my previous question( and I'll rephrase it for you) was: What is your conclusion? "

condescension for the 1st meaning is according to MV: voluntary descent from one's rank or dignity in relations with an inferior

If I interpret it correct, it is an action, while the motive or attitude behind could be either humbleness or benevolence. so you can't tell

comment on me if I am wrong^^

I still prefer B..........
though condescension have ambiguous meanings, the 1st meaning is descent is humbleness, quite a direct antonym with arrogant.
for D...acrimony...namely caustic, the antonym relationship with genial is not so direct...

And meticulousness is a bad word, it's extreme and excessive careful..genial is just to good and nice...
