    Cool Re: GRE analogies

    MALINGERER : : DUTY
    Scholar : pedantic
    Rebel : responsibility
    Miser : wealth
    Recluse : humanity
    Malingerer avoids duties same as recluse avoids humanities, (D)..though B also seems close.

    GUSH : : EFFUSIVE
    Exult : honest
    Snicker : innocent
    Rage : irate
    Whisper : confidential
    An effusive substance always gushes...a confidential thing is always whispered(D)
    POLITIC :: PRUDENT
    Bucolic : constructive
    Insulting : reputable
    Portentous : contemptible
    Disconcerning : embarrassing
    A politic person shows that he is prudent( concerned w/ his future). whereas a diconcerning person is embarrasing.(D)..Its is the Quality.
    DRACONIAN :: COERCION
    Insouciant : resplendence
    Blatant : concealment
    Submissive : consequence
    Munificient : philanthropy
    A very hars person (Draconian) leads to coersion wheras a very munificient(generous) person leads to philanthropy(D)

    SYNONYMOUS : : MEANING
    Ambidextrous : skill
    Equivocal : interpretation
    Coincidental : cause
    Interchangeable : function
    Synonymous means similar in meaning , same as ambidextrous means similar in skills. Although literal meaning of ambidextrous is capable of doing same work with either hands..but its teh closest one i think..so (A)

    REPRIVE: : PUNISHMENT
    Meticulous : resourcefulness
    Imperturbable : composure
    Solace : comfort
    Moratorium : activity
    Reprive means postphoning the punishment, Moratoroum means temporary abolishment of an activity.so..(D)

    Re: GRE analogies

    Seeing the incongruity among the answers we believe to be correct verses the book's answers makes my confidence level plummet to unknown depths. I am set for 2nd October. Can someone please clarify these questions please or may be chip in few words of encouragement ??!!!
