Azzkikr6969,

1 =B

Achromatic = without colour, panchromatic = all colours.

Prefix 'a' ('an' before a vowel) meaning 'without' or 'non-' is seen in words like apolitical, anaerobic.

Re: famous five "A" Antonyms

I think achromatic here is a scientific term which is applied to those lenses which do not split white light into its constituent colours. Whereas, prismatic splits white light into a spectrum, by refraction.

Panchromatic is applied to types of photosensitive films in photography. They are sensitive to all the colours, in the sense, the negatives, when developed do not miss out a single colour.

Dingus,

On reflection I believe you are right. (Physics never was my strong point, neither was Maths, Latin ...)

Re: famous five "A" Antonyms

You have a point, Oh nimesh. Then I think it should be "Sensitive", as you say.
But, no choice fits well.
ETS sure is a cunning old fox.
