Hola, AmigoRo! Como te vas?? (always the English translation for everybody: Hello, how have you been??)

I know this question; I've taught it many times.

The bridge is:

Y is a "supernatural" (i.e., unfounded in Euro-centric science) form of X.

I absolutely don't understand :-(

(From dictionary.com)

wor·ship n.

1.a. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object.
b. The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed.
2. Ardent devotion; adoration.
3. often Worship Chiefly British. Used as a form of address for magistrates, mayors, and certain other dignitaries: Your Worship

sac·ri·fice n.

1. a. The act of offering something to a deity in propitiation or homage, especially the ritual slaughter of an animal or a person.
b. A victim offered in this way.

2. a. Forfeiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim.
b. Something so forfeited.

3. a. Relinquishment of something at less than its presumed value.
b. Something so relinquished.
c. A loss so sustained.

4. Baseball. A sacrifice hit or sacrifice fly

So where's the supernatural element?

I used the word in quotes to indicate that I was using the term loosely.

But looking at the question again more carefully, I realize that I could make a much simpler bridge:

Y is one of the possible actions to perform X, or more simply, Y is a kind of X.

Yes, I fully realize the implications of saying that sacrifice is a "supernatural" form of worship, and ETS would simply avoid any of this type of controversy by not putting such a question on their current tests.

Finally, in the end, I stand by my explanation that both are actions that are "unfounded in Euro-centric science."

The bridge is that they are synonyms.

E) prediction : augury

Augury is an omen or prophecy, hence Prediction.

Maybe this could be a good bridge, but I'm not sure:

a SACRIFICE is a kind of WORSHIP
and
an AUGURY is a kind of PREDICTION

An augury is sometimes considered a superstitious prediction, and a divination (Merriam-Webster: "1 : divination from auspices or omens")
