1) To Equivocate abt an issue is to delay Commitment on tht issue ::
To Procrastinate is to delay Action
Here no other choice fits.

2) Laconic is a good quality of a Speech :: Believable is a good quality of Excuse
Here also no other choice fits. the closest ones r B and E but unyeilding is not a good quality of attitude and gradual transition can be good or bad depending on situations.

3) Inviegle is to coax or wheedle or make sumone to do sumthing by flattery tht is indirectly, clearly requesting directly is Opposite.

4) PECCADILLO is a minor Sin :: admonition is minor Castigation(severe criticism)
anxiety is not minor fear, its a type of fear,no other choice fits.

5) GLIMMER is to shine erratically whras Dazzle is to shine brightly :: Murmur is continuous indistinct wavering sound whras Resound is deep sound or echo.
no other choice fits.

Hope it helps...

laconic is habitually silent or uncommunicative, means less of speech
i dont see how it relates believable and excuse

LACONIC means brief, to the point, using few words in speech.

You are confusing TACITURN with LACONIC, TACITURN means "habitually silent or uncommunicative".

well a laconic speech is good,

a) is believable excuse good? Yes it is acceptable, after all not getting bus at right time is much better excuse for being late than excuse of not being on earth.

b) is unyielding attitude good? No being stubborn is bad

c) austere and design not related in anyway

d) havnt heard anythin like somber procession or parade

e) is gradual transition good? well it isnt necessarily good, it depends on situation, sumtimes sudden transition may be good, so this choice is doubtful.

Hi,
For the second one, a different reasoning came up to my mind. Just evaluate it, and send in your comments.
Laconic speech is something brief and to the point, something effectively cut short --- in a sense it is a simple speech.
An austere design also is a simple design. So isn't it a better option to click on?

Is an austere design always good and effective? No eg. simple design of Bullock cart and complex design of High speed car, which is good?

Is Laconic speech always effective? Yes, who wants to listen to a roundabout speech about a specific topic.

The word laconic implies only using of few words and being concise. It has nothing to do with efficiency.
The right answer is (C) since austere has the meaning simple and limited in design.
