Runes are any characters from an ancient Germanic alphabet used in Scandinavia from the 3rd century to the Middle Ages. Since it was believed that these characters had mysterious significance, rune has got secondary meaning: A poem or an incantation of mysterious significance, especially a magic charm. From the secondary meaning, we get the secondary meaning of its adjective, runic.

cosmic means vast, global, pandemic, planetary, universal, worldwide

Planetary relates to a single planet or planet; whereas cosmic is much more vast....

This is one that I would have trouble with seeing exactly why it is D but through POE that's how I guessed.
