This point is the best which escaped everybody's analysis.
Also, as the medicine was discontinued in the second week which resulted in less sound sleep, we cannot directly gauge it's reaction time period. It can range from a short time of few hours to few days. So, it can likely be also a driving factor behind the sound sleep in the third week. |

Please comment and help me out in writing arguments as well as essays.
Well a folk remedy sounds very promising as it is one of the traditional forms of medicine but folk remedy cures ‘insomnia’ does not make sense from the evidences provided by the author. It might be true that folk medicine must have cured many diseases. However, it is not essential that scent of lavender flower can be helpful for insomnia. Insomnia is caused due to various reasons i.e. depression, tension, etc. Scent cannot reduce the stress levels or cannot cure depression, can they? Is there any research, which shows relationship between cure of insomnia and scent of lavender flowers except the above-mentioned study? The study conducted in the 30 volunteers for three weeks claims that in the last week the volunteers slept for longer time and more soundly than in the previous week after sleeping on lavender-scented pillowsand hence they conclude that folk remedy can cure insomnia. But conducting study on 30 volunteers and that also only for 3 weeks is inadequate. To interpret any result one needs a proper sample size and the study should be conducted for longer period especially for such observational studies. Probably in the first week, they slept soundly because of their medication compared to second week when they slept less soundly and tired feeling can be due to inadequate sleep. In the third week, they slept soundly probably because in the previous week they could not sleep properly. The statement that volunteers slept for longer time does not support the claim because longer time doesn’t mean adequate sleep. Are they getting adequate sleep? Cure of insomnia means person is sleeping adequately and without any disturbance. Therefore, to prove relationship between cure of insomnia and scent of lavender flower more research and evidences are required which author failed to provide. Thanks! |
