"Many people believe that a few individuals or small groups (family, friends, teachers, celebrities, for example) have caused them to think and behave in the way they do. Yet it is always society as a whole that defines us and our attitudes, not a few individuals."
The following article states that in most cases society as a whole influences on a person’s development. I partially agree with this point of view. I consider that a society, undoubtedly, plays a significant role in nurturing a person, but the influence of family and individuals in one’s life is greater. Below I am going to explain my vision of the problem. To begin with, I suppose that person’s main traits, such as character, habits and attitudes, form in his childhood. One recent scientific study has proved that one receives the basis of his future character, gets the major part of useful skills and knowledge between the age of 0 and 5 years. During this short period of time a person learns how to walk, how to speak and how to communicate with the surrounding world. His mind, memory, sense organs receive huge amount of information which one will use during all his life. During his first years of life a person lives in a small world of his family- his parents and his closest relatives. A child learns how to behave and react in different situations looking at the behaviour of his/her relatives, learns about many events in the world listening to their stories. During this period a person studies what is god and what is bad, learns what is right and what is wrong; and this notions stay with one till the end of life. Later, when a child goes to school, his small world, which consisted mostly of the members of his family, grows and enlarges. A child starts to communicate with his/her peers, teachers, other people, etc. Each year a person becomes more and more involved in society’s life, but very deep in one’s mind and in one’s heart lays the moral basis, founded at the early age. I think the proverb “All people come from childhood” proves the importance of childhood’s influence one more time. In conclusion, I would like to point out the fact that no matter what high position a person occupies at the present time, how he/she behaves in a life, what results one achieves during his course of life, the preconditions for it are founded in childhood. And only a person’s family has a major influence on a child’s future life. |

hi FAFA
![]() yes it's definitely not an easy topic ![]() i can say that i'm on the opposit side of your opoinion. i think that the society defines our attitudes and affects them. any way, as you know there is no right answer in the AWA, your answer is correct. there is small mistakes: "good" instead of "god" and "these notions" instead of "this notions". you didn't cite clear examples to support your point of view. but in general your essay is good and nice. hope that helps FAFA ![]() |

ur coherence, fluency is good. A smooth language to read in one breath....
just about the ideas. the idea of intellectual development in childhood was not mentioned in the question. I dont know whether it is right or wrong. Also You could include some definite examples. best of luck. |
