Heart Issue topic discussion

"In any given field, the leading voices come from people who are motivated not by conviction but by the desire to present opinions and ideas that differ from those held by the majority."

The "leading voice" to be a bit controversial to me.

Ideas held by the majority are the leading voices in a given field, how can these leading voices come from other people who hold different opinion then?

Anyone who has got an idea?

I think the "leading voices" expresion refers to the voices who want to get the atention even if they support ideeas that are not very plausible. They just want to create for themself a public image.
