People's behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making. Plz Review

Our world is a collection of individuals belonging to a variety of ethnicity, speaking a diverse mix of languages and practicing various rituals. Hence, it can be called an eclectic blend of human species. Behaviors are exhibited here on two levels; firstly collective as a nation or ethnicity and secondly as an individual. Now, the issue here is to analyze behavior. We have to understand that behavior is shaped by not only other people's action but our own emotional interpretation effects it as well. Behavior can be explained as a combination of reaction in response to a certain action by someone else which is a collective response and also the emotional imprint the action leaves on us which varies individually. Hence, it would be incorrect to argue that behavior is totally dependent upon other forces rather it is also effected by our interpretation and understanding of the force.

Lets go back into history, to understand that how people have responded to actions and attitude forced upon them collectively. In 1885, people of the Sub continent in South Asia started fighting for their freedom against the Britishers. It could be said that it shows how collective action was shaped by the attitude of the British forces. But a close examination would reveal the variety in these response because of the differences in individual intellectual capabilities. A few Indians in Punjab responded to the freedom movement by committing murders and used violence as a tool. The Muslims resorted for a political movement and Hindus shaked hand with the Britishers. This shows that though the fight for freedom was the common implication, every other group interpreted and took different measures for it.

Similarly, lets examine the post 9/11 behaviors amongst people. Most of the people have become cautious about their protection and have developed ways to protect themselves. But the violence has had two pronged effects as well. On one hand, some have become more cautious and sensitive towards violence. On the other hand, a few have become apathetic due to the excessive bloodshed. Some have adopted prejudices towards Muslims in the world. Others have become more united with them.

Hence, though the forces play a role in shaping our behavior but it is not the only factor. Factors like emotions, interpretations, intellect and personality play a vital role as well .

hi! I like your essay. You have strong examples, your point of view is clear, your writing is coherent. This essay is really shows that you are very clever! To make your essay better (in my opinion) you have to make your last passage-conclusion- a bit bigger, not only 2 sentences.

commendable effort anam, nice use of vocab :watermelon:

but doesn't the issue mean that people are generally viewed by others in some sense(i.e their behavior is determined) whch could have been a result of their circumstances and not their true behavior?

determined is confusing me!!!

people's behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making."

A society where different kinds of people live toghther and it is very obvious that every person has their own behavior.

People's behavior is entirely depends on how they have been brought up. Every person get different enviornment in life.Based on different events, situations these peoples have been faced, their bahavior or nature formed.

While behaving people has to keep in mind that he lives in society so he should not behave as he want he has to be like other people that means his behavior get influenced by other people or other forces But at the same time ha has a liberty to make his own decision, his personal or individual responsibilities so at some point i am disagree with the statement "People's behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making."

personal responsibilities plays a major role in peole's behavior.Lets take a one example of a person's behavior who has a family, wife and two kids.In that the external forces are like to do a good job to run a family needs. But it's entirely his decision whether to do a job or just sit at home without doing anything.Certainly the consequences will make effect on their lives. Thus,we can see that if a person do his personal responsibilities well his life will be definately better than ther person who is just sitting at home and not doing anything.

External forces come in picture when peoples behaves in a society like if they are at public place.let take a one instance.

A person's responsiblity is to stop at red light traffic signal and abide by the rules of his country no matter how much rush he has because it's a external force if he would not do that he has to pay big fine and may be will have to face to bad accident. But on the other hand if this persons go to some other country where these rules are not so much rigorous as compared to his own country, there this person's individual responsibilities come into play whether he has to follow the rules and do a safe driving or just break the rules and take the risk about life and fine.

Therefore from the above instances it is seen that at some extent external forces are part of people's life but their behavior is solely depends on their own making.
