Are people’s behavior determined largely in part by thingsbeyond their control? I agree that people have a tendency to make choices based on past outcomes. However, I feelthat their personality and temperament regarding these uncontrolled instancesplay a large part in their behavior. The way each person responds to an eventis based on the invidual and not the circumstance.

A good example of this is as follows . A person who is going to school to be a physician and studies extremely hard. Hefails out of the program after the first semester and has studied extremely arduously. He caneither work on where he went wrong and then reapply for admission or give upand either stay in the professional that he currently is at or try a differentprofession.

Another good example is that a man has been with a woman fortwenty years and the man files for divorce on his wife due to infidelity issueson the wife’s part. He can find another soulmate right away, give himself achance to heal and then find that special someone, or he can choose to never bewith a woman ever again. What hashappened to him is not easy by any means but how he reacts to it depends on hispersona.

My final example is the death of a loved one. This is never easy to cope with but again thechoices made can be as follows: One can tell stories in honor of that person’smemory, they can mourn continuously, they can possibly commit suicide, or theycan grieve for a certain amount of time and then move on. Everybody has their own way of dealing with aloss of a loved one.

In conclusion of the argument, People’s behavior is onlypartly determined by instances beyond their control. Their personality and howthey react to these instances are thetrue driving force behind their behavior. (Please Critique Thank You)
