All parents should be required to volunteer time to their children's schools.

Parents play an important role in their child's academics.

In fact their role is as important as their teacher's role.

Though some parents may argue that they cannot visit their child's school due to busy work schedules,

it is very essential that they volunteer some amount of time to their children's schools regularly.

Nowadays, parents feel that enrolling their kids to one of the best schools in the city, buying them all the stationery and books, completes their role in their kid's education.

They don't realize the fact that Education and learning are not only associated with school. It is a process that involves both home and school.

Parents should visit their visit their kid's school regularly and must definitely interact with their class teachers.

This will help them to better understand about their kid's academic progress and give them a clear picture of their kid's strength and the areas where they are wanting.

Since it is always tough for a class teacher to pay individual attention to every kid,

parents must spend some time at home and teach their kids.

This will help in improving the kids's overall performance.

In addition to teaching subjects , parents can teach moral values , based on the feedback they get from their class teachers.

Children, when left unnoticed about their academic progress at home ,tend to become less interested in education.

And also start to engage in mal-practices. I had a friend who often bunked classes and went to movies. He was warned and advised by teachers many times.

He never listened to teachers and bunked classes regularly .Since his parents never came to school, they we unaware of his behavior and still thought that their son was studying well.Only when he failed in the exams , the parents came to know about their son's other side.Had they visited their son's school regularly, they could have avoided this situation much earlier.

Parents must not try to track their kid's academic progress by looking at their progress card alone.

They must play an active role in their kid's education by visiting their schools regularly.
