Please help me achieve excellence: Evaluate my Issue Essay

A nation should require all of its students to study same national curriculum until they enter college.

I completely agree that a nation should make mandatory same national curriculum for all the students until they get into college.

Same national curriculum will promote equality among all the students. Currently student’s belonging to rich families get to study at expensive schools with entirely different curriculum and because of which they think they are more educated and a difference arises between them and other ordinary students.

Also, having same curriculum in whole country will also help those students who wish to move from one part of country to other because of family reasons as they will get the same curriculum in different school at any location.

Sometimes schools of a particular region teach students more about that particular area. For example if we take case of India, which is a big country with 28 states and 18 different language speaking regions, Now if a student moves from north India to south India or west India, It will take a lot of time for him to adjust with entirely different curriculum in these parts. So, having a national curriculum also helps a lot in case if a student has to transfer from one region to another. Also, having a same national curriculum is important for well-rounded development of students as they will get to study from a national curriculum instead of any region based curriculum which is only specific for that part of country.

Having a same national curriculum also solves the problem of Assessment of students from different parts of country. For example let's take the case of India again, there is an exam called as IIT which is to get entry into India's top engineering colleges for undergraduate program. Now let say there are two students one of them got access to a quality curriculum which is based on exam pattern of IIT and other student is studied from a curriculum which was really good but not at all related to exam pattern of IIT. Now both of these students are aspiring to score good in IIT but the second student won't be able to do well as because of his curriculum and because of this difference in curriculum it gets really difficult to assess the ability of these two students.

Also there is negative point of having same curriculum on national level as some students decide very early about their choice in career, and then they will be wasting their time and money studying something which they don't want to pursue in life as career goal. So, for them it is not fruitful to have a same national curriculum.

Because of the above stated reasons like Equality, Better Assessment Criteria, Well rounded development etc., I think it would be really great to have a same national curriculum until a student enters college.
