“The best way to teach whether as an educator, employer, or parent is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones”

Learning is the basic instinct of mankind. For long time man has learnt to learn things. In our day-to-day life we always learn some new things. As it has been said very correctly that world is a big school, where we gain knowledge of our requirement through academic learning or through experience. The learning process starts right from our birth. A baby opens his eyes and right at that moment he starts interpreting surrounding things.

Young children are like block of clay; they develop as their tutors shape them. The important tutor are parents. They teach us many things. We always try to imitate them. This actually is learning. What ever they do no matter good or bad we follow our parents foot steps. Parents always encourage our learning process by praising positive actions. This is very good for the all around growth of a child. Some times they intentionally ignore the wrong deeds. It can be because they do not want to discourage their children. But it can cause some bad effects, like children might think they can do any thing no matter it is good or bad. Children at young age do not have capacity to interpret or distinguish good or bad things. So it is the responsibility of the parents to guide the children.

Other place where we learn is our schools and colleges. Teachers are our idols in these institutions. They give prizes to encourage the students. Also they deserve a right to smack their students as a punishment. Students in schools learn so many things. Along the way they make mistakes. But punishment is not always a way to correct the mistakes. A good teacher first talks to the student and tries to convince him about what he has done wrong. If the student learns from his mistakes its well and good; but sometimes teachers had to punish.

As an employer it’s a duty to praise the positive actions, as it is good for the employer as well as the employee. The employers offer incentives, bonus to the employees. In this way the employees work hard for the organization as a whole. But sometimes they make mistakes. The employer should guide the employees at such times. And still if the same mistake is made again they punishment is must.

The bottom line of the issue is praising positive action is always good. It encourages the person. But completely ignoring the negative actions is not desirable because it can create wrong impact. One might feel invincible and will lead to a wrong path if all his or her wrong deeds are always ignored. So it can be concluded that the best way to teach is to encouraging positive actions and punishment for repeated mistakes not to its limit will always be beneficial.
