197 The material progress and well-being of one country are necessarily connected to the material progress and well-being of all other countries.
The very concept of Globalisation and Liberalisation reveals that the material progress and well being of a country are connected to the material progress and well being of all the other countries. Today the repercussions of an economic disaster or a natural calamity in one part of the world can be felt all around the globe. Likewise todays world we discuss problems as 'Global Problems' instead of addressing them as problems of individual countries. Technological advances in communication, transportation and science have made our world so small. We may soon witness the concept of Global Village which is fast emerging now. Coming to material progress ,no country is self sufficient in its natural resources which makes it necessary for it to depend on the others. The very fact that each and every country has imports and exports amounting to millions of dollars support this fact. We have seen countries like India which are abundant in natural resources importing technology from technically advanced countries like Japan and the U.S.A. Also countries like the U.S.A. which have plenty of natural resources import man power from the developing countires like India and the China. For example, more than about 25% (app) of the employees of IBM and Microsoft are Indians.Needless, to address about the fact that all the countries in the world depend on The Middle Eastern Countries of Asia for their Oil and Petroleum product requirements. We can still remember the repercussions the Gulf War had on the rest of the world in 1992. Regarding the well being of the countries, today we cannot say that many problems like Global Warming and AIDS are only the burden of individual countries. It has become a responsibility of each and every country to contribute towards the same. We have seen research teams coming together to fight these problems, these research teams consist of experts from many countries. The emphasis is not on the question as to which country has contributed more number of experts to the research team, but the importance lies in the fact that how these research teams are doing in terms of tackling the problem. We have the world body, The U.N.O. of which almost every country is a member. The U.N.O. has made its presence felt in almost every part of the world and we have seen many a times, The U.N.O. offering a helping hand in terms of financial, material & man power aid to countries in the time of natural calamities and crisis. May it be the famine in Somalia and other African countries or may it be an earthquake in any other country. Further, most of the deleterious consequences of some horrified acts of terrorism and the network of drug trafficking are not confined to any particular geographical and these effects are not limited to the boundaries of individual countries. It is for the world as a one united body which should fight against all these evils and make the world a more comortable, stable and a safer place to live. Nuclear radiations also donot recognise physical boundaries, thereby no country can act to its own whims and fancies. However, i would like to take an exception only insofar to state that some factors like the population of a country, a part of its culture and geographical climate are isolated with the world and doesnot depend on other countries to a larger extent. To conclude, it is evident from a number of facts in many areas like business, economy, health..etc that the material progress and well being of a country are by and large connected to the material progress and well-being of other countries. Countries of the world inturn are trying to derive the Synergetic effect wherein the output of the whole is greater than the sum of outputs of the parts. |

Likewise todays (today’s ) world we discuss problems as 'Global Problems' instead of addressing them as problems of individual countries. Technological advances in communication, transportation and science have made our world so small. We may soon witness the concept of Global Village which is fast emerging now. (Global village- wonderful term) Coming to material progress ,no country is self sufficient in its natural resources which makes it necessary for it to depend on the others. The very fact that each and every country has imports and exports amounting to millions of dollars support this fact. We have seen countries like India which are abundant in natural resources importing technology from technically advanced countries like Japan and the U.S.A. (give specific examples of products , if u know). Also countries like the U.S.A. which have plenty of natural resources import man power from the developing countires like India and the China. For example, more than about 25% (app)? of the employees of IBM and Microsoft are Indians. Needless, to address about the fact that all the countries in the world depend on The Middle Eastern Countries of Asia for their Oil and Petroleum product requirements. We can still remember the repercussions the Gulf War had on the rest of the world in 1992. Regarding the well being of the countries, today we cannot say that many problems like Global Warming and AIDS are only the burden of individual countries. (consider revising the structure of the sentence) It has become a responsibility of each and every country to contribute towards the same. May it be the famine in Somalia and other African countries or may it be an earthquake in any other country. ( I think smaller sentences with clearer meanings wud make this para look better) Further, most of the deleterious consequences of some horrified acts of terrorism and the network of drug trafficking are not confined to any particular geographical and these effects are not limited to the boundaries of individual countries. It is for the world as a one united body which should fight against all these evils and make the world a more comortable, stable and a safer place to live. Nuclear radiations also donot recognise physical boundaries, thereby no country can act to its own whims and fancies. (Its just my opinion that topics such as radiation could have been avoided since we are talking about material progress of nations) However, i would like to take an exception only insofar to state that some factors like the population of a country, a part of its culture and geographical climate are isolated with the world and does (do not depend ) not depend on other countries to a larger extent. To conclude, it is evident from a number of facts in many areas like business, economy, health..etc that the material progress and well being of a country are by and large connected to the material progress and well-being of other countries. Countries of the world in turn are trying to derive the Synergetic effect wherein the output of the whole is greater than the sum of outputs of the parts. Well, I think it’s a good essay in terms of use of vocabulary and ideas. I hope the above comments will help you. |

Well do find out the flaws.................please
In today’s world of increasing Globalization the proponents claim is very much valid. Globalization means "interdependence of the nations".And it is because of this interdependence state of affairs in one country effects others. First lets see how this is true for material progress by a simple example. India's economy is making good progress. This is increasing its GDP and per capita income. Because now people has more spending power, they are looking for new ways to spend money. These stimulates international firms like say McDonalds to open their branches in India. As a result of which more profitable economic activity is exercised( Increasing taxes for the government, new jobs etc.) .This fuels India's growth .But a part of this profit and economic activity also effects the country where the head-office of the firm is situated .Because of increased profits through international operations , the firm might need more people at the headoffice, has to pay more taxes .This also surges the US economy forward. And this cycle goes on repeating, and as a result material progress of the nations become increasingly interdependent on each others This fact is also very much valid for the well-being. Let’s see a example for the economic aspect of this. Till, Last year there was a recession in US economy, growth rate had decreased and so the business being conducted. This let to a significant drop in NASDAQ and whenever their was a fall in NASDAQ , there was a fall at BSES( Bombay Stock Exchange, India ). This effected the economies of both the nations by playing havoc with stock investors. Lets consider another example. The oil supplies! 80% of oil being used in world today comes from the Arab Nations. Now as of now these nations are progressing well and have a stable condition. Now just consider that for some reason a civil war breaks out there. This is going to have a bearing on the global scale because firstly, crude oil production will fall and Secondly, oil prices will shoot up. Take the case in Health sector. Soils of Afghanistan are not good enough for crops like Rice, Wheat etc. But it is good for Opium. And farmer’s their cultivate it to earn some money. And then from the farms of Afghanistan it reaches all over the world in form of cocaine, marijuana and harms the society. These are only a few examples i could produce. But they show clearly that nations are interdependent on each other for their material progress and well being whether its a economically, socially or any other. |

I would suggest that writing the conclusion in first person would be a better choice (based on sample essays). I've written the following conclusion for your essay....
In sum, I agree that the material progress and well-being of all nations in today's world are interdependent. The economic and political stability of all nations is strengthened by mutual co-operation between them. Moreover, sharing of national resources helps to make the world a better and more comfortable place in which to live. The inescapable conclusion, then, is that the speaker is fundamentally correct. Here, I tried to sum up your first and second examples in the second sentence and third and fourth in the third sentence....there's nothing wrong with your conclusion, but it is weakly related to the body of your essay.. I am really eager to get other's responses. Any useful advice will be greatly appreciated.
197 The material progress and well-being of one country are necessarily connected to the material progress and well-being of all other countries. Today's world of increasingly globalization is often regarded as the "global village" for the cooperation and interdependence among the different countries are becoming more and more frequent and necessary. The different countries are no longer isolated, and the material progress and well-being of one country are often connected to the material progress and well-being of all other countries. This trend of globalization are mainly the result of necessitates of economic reasons and the solution of some international problems. Nowadays, one of the important basis for the collaboration among different countries is the economic advantages, and this is the main reason which connected countries all over the world together. Firstly, not all countries of the world have equal amount of natural resources. Some countries may be rich in this kind of resource, while others is rich in other kinds of resources. This would certainly lead to the economic cooperations. Japan, for instance, almost has little natural resources, and its economic advantages lie mainly in its advanced technologies. So, Japn often import from other countries the natural resources needed, while exporting its industrial products, such as computers, TV sets. Japan's prosperity depends to a large extent on other countries natural resources and also other countries could get much economic interests from the importation of Japanese industrial products. Another example is about petroleum. As we all know, the countries in the middle east Asia area usually have abundant deposition of petroleum, but they are short of water and other materials. So the main exports of these countries are products of petroleum in order to buy other materials they needs from other countries. Also, other highly developed countries are often dependent on the petroleum from the countries of the Persian Gulf. Secondly, human resources are another important resources. In some developed countries the cost of human resources are often much higher than that of the developing countries. Thus it is natural that much company of the developed countries often build plants in the developing countries in order to employ much persons with less salaries, which could lower their cost of product and thereby strengthen their products' competition in the market. Microsoft Company, for example, have employed more than 25 percents of its employees from the developing countries, such as India, China. The case is also true in other international companies, such as IBM, Intel. This kind of the exchange in human resource between various countries have propelled the trend of globalization. Furthermore, the solution of some global problems needs the cooperation among different countries, which make any country in the Earth being unable to be isolated from others. The environmental pollution is the most important and urgent problem for human beings. Its solution needs itimate cooperations between among countries. If some countries would not participate in the solution of this problem and its pollutant industries and other sources still exist, the problem of pollution will never able to be solved. The case is also true in other problems. The prevention of contagious diseases needs the collaboration among countries. SARS, for example, is recently the most severe contagious diseases which is firstly discovered in China and has spread quickly to many other countries, such as the U.S.A., Canada, Singapore. Finally it is the cooperation in scientific research and other areas among countries across the world that at last prevent the spread of this terrible contagious diseases. Finally, we can find some evidences in terms history for the interdependence among countries. After the World War II, America determined to carry out the Marshall Plan, which was designed to help the European countries to recover from the severe destruction of the war. It was because that America viewed the European countries as its indispensable economic partner and American ecnomic development can not be achieved without the prosperity of Europe. Additionally, the foundation of international organizations devoted to solve global problems can to some degree reveal the importance of international cooperations and the trend of interdependence among countries. In sum, countries all over the world are muturally connected together to each other. Any country's development and prosperity can not be acquired without the collaboration of other countries in various aspects. |

I would just like to point out a problem that a number of people posting to this issue seem to be having; When you say "today's world," you are implying ownership. Just who is this today guy and how did he manage to obtain ownership is the world? It would be better to say "In our modern world" or something to that extent, but not "today's" since the apostraphe and s imply that someone owns something. Carry on.
