Has anyone used the ScoreItNow software? Can someone please respond? It would be a great help to me.
How accurate is the ScoreItNow software? I remember taking a sample argument essay some time ago and scoring a 6. I am wondering how accurate the software is in terms of predicting your score on the real exam. Also, is this the same piece of software that is used to score your GRE AWA essay?
For the computer-based Analytical Writing section, each essay receives a score from at least one trained reader, using a six-point holistic scale... The essay score is then reviewed by e-rater, a computerized program developed by ETS, which is being used to monitor the human reader. If the e-rater evaluation and the human score agree, the human score is used as the final score. If they disagree by a certain amount, a second human score is obtained, and the final score is the average of the two human scores.I can't speak from personal experience, but ETS provides some data about e-rater's accuracy. See the PDF file at the bottom of this page: "The correlation between the scores assigned by two human was .81, and the correlation of a human score and e-rater score was .76."
