How important is the essay score?
Hi. For some reason, I feel that my Achilles' Heel is the analytical writing section. I am aspiring to get admission to an MS program of perhaps one of the top 25 US universities. How important would my AWA score be if I am able to get 1450+ in the GRE?

i'm not an expert on this subject, but i'm sure that importance of the awa section highly depends on the program you apply. i believe that an awa grade of 4 should be enough for an engineering program, however if you apply for a social science program, it should be at least 5 i guess.

I really don't see how any engineering science-related advisor can base anything on the argue an issue section. It's completely wide open with no correct answer. I thought we stopped bullshitting in high school.
