Are these pathways worth memorizing? Has anyone encountered any questions on the exam regarding details of these pathways? Thanks!

I think catabolism is worth studying. If my memory is right, I have seen urea cycle- and aminotransferase reaction-related questions.

However, I didn't see any aa synthesis questions; if you are running out of prep time, you may consider skipping these.
