ok, so i'm gullible, and desperate because it's less than a week until test time and i haven't studied. i just bought the ebooks from grebio.com-- $21 for the three ebooks. since somebody keeps seeding these msg boards with what appear to be fake posts as a method of advertising, i thought that these things were actually that awesome. they aren't. but they're not entirely useless either.

basically, i got 3 pdf files. the "ebook" is actually an outline, looks just like somebody's class notes, of the three textbooks advertised. it's not in complete sentences, and despite being a 63-page file, would only take about 2 hrs to read through. it's completely useless if you haven't already encountered these topics, but is useful as a survey of everything you should review. although it's not sufficient to learn from, it can be a helpful tool in organizing your study times and getting an idea of what you still need to cover. i'm probably going to read through this outline and make note of topics to look up and review from a *real textbook*.

the second "book" of tips and tricks is actually about 3 pages of text, most of which comes from the free booklet provided by ETS. even the few lines that aren't a repeat of ETS's advice are completely useless common-sense strategies.

the third file is a 180-question practice test written by the grebio.com person/people. i would consider this the most useful file just because there isn't anything else to practice from other than ETS's 2000 test and the 1994 test on this site. even if those questions aren't an entirely accurate estimation of what would be on the real test, i think the practice test would be helpful with timing and calling to my attention what i need to learn still.

the conclusion: it's a big waste of money. but not entirely useless, so if you have money to waste and need something to make you feel a little better because, like me, you waited until literally the last week to study (and therefore are quite screwed), then go ahead and buy the thing. the outline and the practice test might actually do some tiny bit of good... or maybe i'm just telling myself so i don't feel like i threw away twenty bucks.

anyway, good luck to fellow april-test-takers! and good luck studying to later testers... don't wait until the last minute or you'll end up panicking and randomly buying things like i did

I disagree about this long evaluation of the grebio.com ebook...
I used it thoroughly and guess what - I got 97%
Of course that doesn't mean that anybody who reads the grebio books will get such a high score, but as the one who got it, I recommend it...

first off, to the poster who got 97%. Suspect that you'd go to a GRE forum just to say that after completing the exam, but anyway, if true, nice score, however, I guarantee it didn't come from the grebio ebook.

The book is a waste of money, and at $27, to be a waste of money is quite an accomplishment.
So, the review book itself is an incoherent jumble of random facts. Okay, fine, it has the most ADHD idea of what's important info and what isn't, but maybe your moneysworth comes in the 3 full length practice exams....
This is where I'd go so far as to say the ebook is not only useless but detrimental to some. There are some questions that are just flat out wrong.
