GRE CS Practice Test Questions 65 and 67

Hi, I am going to be tested next week and I am in my late study phase. I did the practice test but there are some questions that I couldn't understand.

    Answer is E.
Why? What if w is parent node of u and v (hence u and v are silblings)

Answer not given in practice test. It is obviously not A or B. I believe it is D. But how do you tackle this one?

All in all I got a scaled score of 840. But is this good or not, I don't know?

I will do the Titanium Bits Test next. But are there even more tests out there for practice?

    Hi

For 2nd question answer is O(n^2)

try to draw line so that you maximize number of partitions...........

    n Rn
    0 1
    1 1+1
    2 1+1+2
    3 1+1+2+3
    4 1+1+2+3+4

    so Rn=1+(sum of n numbers)
    =1+n(n+1)/2

    so Rn is O(n^2)

840 is an excellent score..........Keep posting problems... the more you solve the more you get!

Hmm, ok, that sounds good. For those of you who have already taken the GRE Subject Test, will it be harder or easier or about the same as the practice test?

I have taken the Titatnium Bits test and must say that it is much harder. I only got a few questions right.

If there is any consensus in the old posts, it is that the test difficulty is about the same as the practice tests in the ETS booklets (which were former tests). That's how people seem to feel right after they take the test. But when they get their score results, they tend to feel the test was more difficult because they scored lower than expected, partly because the test covers so many topics.

    Hi,

I agree with CalmLogic. Last year i appeared for GRE CS test in november. After the test i felt the paper was easy, but when i got my score i was disappointed. I scored meager 730 which is 50%. I answered 40/70 correct, at the same time i answered many wrong so my score reduced to around 33. I didn't expect much questions from computer networks, but test paper has 3-4 questions which i haven't seen in practice papers. I wasn't strong in automata and computer architecture.

Now its becoming difficult for me to manage time for job, applying to universities and preparing for toefl. Now i need time to revise all the subjects. You never know how much you score in gre cs in advance.

    Exactly. Another example:

I scored in the 41st percentile.

But last week I received acceptance into UIUC for a computer science PhD. With financial assistance.

...I have close to 20 papers, my undergrad was from a US State University not known for great research, my undergrad GPA was above 3.9, my master's GPA (from the same college) was above a 3.9.

...Good scores can help you but bad scores are not the end. Sometimes it seems like the messages on this board indicate that only the very highest scores on the test can get into grad school. Stop believing that and believe in yourself.

http://www.urch.com/forums/gre-compu...s-not-end.html (Bad Subject Test Scores are not the End) (Bad Subject Test Scores are not the End)
(Obviously, he got into UIUC larely because of his numerous publications.)
