    Sub GRE scores

    Hi,
I just wanted to know that it is possible to cancel my Sub GRE scores after I receive (i.e. some time in Dec) them, right? So that I do not end up sending the scores to the Universities in case I don't do well on it. Thanks

Once your exam is scored, you will have the scores on your ETS record for 5 years.

What you can do is decide not to report the scores to any universities automatically. But then it costs you more since you don't get the "free" reporting to four universities that you choose when you register for the exam (which includes regular GRE reporting if you select that option as well). (If you have already registered for the exam, there's still lots of time to change the score recipients and there is no charge to do so.)

So one strategy is to automatically report the score to four universities that are safer for your profile.

Thanks a lot CalmLogic . I've opted to NOT report my scores to any of the universities automatically. I am planning to take the Subject GRE this November(Nov 13, 2010) from India and am aiming for fall 2011, so just wasn't sure if the scores get reported automatically(in case I don't do well on the test). So, I'll check my results (circa Dec 13) and report accordingly. Thanks once more

    Hi guys,
I have a question about scores too.
I am confused whether they report subscores in each section of the GRE CS test:
    (1) Software systems and methodology
    (2) Computer organization and architecture
    (3) Theory and Mathematical background
    (4) Other topics
Or the only score that is reported is the cumulative?
My problem is that CS wasn't my major, but my studies have covered many areas from CS except
    (3) Theory and Mathematical background
There are only 5 weeks left for preparation so I can review subjects that I studied before and answer only those questions on the test (it should be 60% of the questions). Will my score report indicate that I haven't answered any question in particular subtopic?

Right. They don't report subscores or even calculate them in the first place.

I have another doubt: Consider, I am filling up an application form for some university which asks me to mention if I have taken the subject test. Now, if I say 'yes' and give them the dates etc (for the test) wouldn't they expect me to report the score once I get them? Meaning, what happens if I say that I have taken the test(in the application form) but fail to report it? Can this be held against me? Thanks

    LOL

I really don't know. My guess is they don't fully expect it, though. You can ask them since the people in the CS department who answer questions about the CS grad admissions are not usually on the committee as they are almost always staff members, not professors.

Can I report the scores in spite of not mentioning taking the AGRE (in the application form)? Would they still consider it ?
