when should i plan to take my subjective gre?? pls help!

    hello admin,

The ETS site has recently launched testing dates for the subjective gre(oct, nov, april 09'). My question to you is, considering that iam an applicant for FALL 09' ,by when should i have my subjective scores ready?? should i send my subjective scores along with the rest of the transcripts or can i afford to write the exam in april and send it via mail?? is that feasible??

How many months should i allocate for the test preparation??

Based on your previous posts, I assume you live in India. That being the case, you can only take the November exam unless you leave the country.

In any case, I would suggest taking the November exam. Your scores will arrive in time for the December 15th application deadlines, and most deadlines are in January, anyway.

The problem with the October exam, as mentioned before, is that there are much less people taking it, so it is harder to get a good score (since ETS seems to use the percentile as the basis of the scaled score). And the April exam is past the application deadlines except for USC and maybe Rutgers.

But is the exam even offered in October at your test center? Don't you live in India?

whats the approximate amt of time involved in preparing for subjective gre CS??
Many people spend at least several months studying for it on a very part-time basis.

No, the test is only offered in November. You should have read the bulletin carefully:

Yes, you are wrong. As stated on that web page:

    • Not all test centers are open on all test dates. Download the Test Center List (PDF) for testing locations.
So see page 17 of the the test center booklet.

    To reiterate:

I AM 100 PERCENT SURE THERE IS NO OCTOBER EXAM IN INDIA.

Are you saying you have will a semester exam on November 8th, a Saturday? If not, how are the semester exams preventing you from taking the November 8th GRECS exam?

    is there any alternative??
As mentioned before, the only option is to leave the country to take the exam in October. Keep in mind that ETS experienced a lot of GRECS cheating in China and India more than a few years ago, so that is why it only offers the November exam for people in India.
