SaeedinTejas
Area of town B shared = 20% of area of town B not shared = 0.2 * B not shared. Total area of B = B shared + B unshared = 0.2 * B unshared + B unshared = 1.2 B unshared % of B shared = B shared / total B = 0.2 B unshared / (1.2 B unshared) = 1/6 * 100% = 16.67% Answer to nearest integer = 16%

We can also just plug in some values that satisfy the given conditions. Let 100 = area of town B that is NOT part of town A So, 20 = area the two towns SHARE [this satisfies the condition that "the area of town A that lies in town B is 20% of the area of the town B that does not come in town A"] So, the TOTAL area of town B = 100 + 20 = 120 QUESTION: The percentage of town B that lies in town A,rounded off to the nearest integer is? 20/120 = 1/6 = 16.666...% Rounded to the nearest INTEGER, we get 17% Cheers, Brent
