    x= 2y + 3---(i)
    another.....
    6y = 3x - 9
    =>6y=3(x-3)
    =>2y=x-3
    =>x=2y + 3
    so both equations are same you cant determine the value of x,y as there are two unknown x,y variable..
    So its D

    it can be done because two given equations are equal.. if they are not equal you cant do that........

    I got u dude. Many many thanx.

    but sometimes we can
    If the problem was stated like t his..........
    x = y + 3
    2x - 2 = 2y + 4

    Compare
    A: x
    B: y

    There we can decide. A

    I was misguided by this illusion on the previously stated problem.
    Where the value y= -3 helped m,e out of the maze.

    Take care
