    QC- Nova Question

    1) x/y > y

    Col A: x
    Col B: y^2

I answered A, needless to say, it is a wrong answer per Nova. I'm not sure I agree with Nova though.

    Any inputs!?!

i realized the solution as i was just about to write "i dont see any problems here."

    y COULD be negative, so x/y > y actually becomes x < y^2.

    for example: if y= -2 and x =-1, then we have -1/-2 > -2 or -1 < 4 or x < y^2.
    if y=2 and x=5, then 5/2 > 2 or 5 > 4 or x > y^2.

the answer should be that there is not enough information. wow it really didn't occur to me for a while. =)

    Hi,

The answer is D. Because it has 2 cases.

    Case 1 :

    Let X=6, Y=2, X/Y = 6/2 = 3 > 2

    This case Col A > Col B

    Case 2 :

    Let X=2, Y=1, X/Y = 2/1 = 2 > 1

    This case Col A = Col B.

    Hope it is clear.

    Regards,

    sasi
