## The Greatest Value

Hi,
My concern is to get the greatest value in a short way of the following question.
Which of the following fractions has the greatest value?
a. 6/((2^2)*(5^2))
b. 1/((2^3)*(5^2))
c. 28/((2^2)*(5^3))
d. 62/((2^3)*(5^3))
e. 122/((2^4)(5^3))

Hi there, a short way to approach this is to simplify the values first. Notice that the denominator has 2^x * 5^y. That should give you the clue that something can be done about it. To simplify, multiply all terms by 2^2 * 5^2.

a. 6
b. 1/2
c. 28/5
d. 62/(2*5)
e. 122/ (4*5)

It will now be easier to tell which is the biggest, and that is d.

Exactly, I would approach this question like that way, just think they are equal and parallelly simplify the questions cancealing all the common factors in the denominator, then u will be able to compare whatever is left in simplified form.
