I'm sure there's a more elegant way to solve this, but my first reaction is to figure that the earliest date it could fall on would be the 22nd (if the first day of the month is a Tuesday) and the latest date it could fall on would be the 28th (if the first day of the month is a Wednesday). Counting up, that's 7 different dates.
The part about the month having 30 days is just a red herring. ![]() |

Yes, I agree with BuckyKatt's solution. I like the view below:
Tuesday lands on 1st of the month-- 1 + 7(3) = day 22 2nd of the month-- 2 + 7(3) = day 23 3rd of the month-- 3 + 7(3) = day 24 4th of the month-- 4 + 7(3) = day 25 5th of the month-- 5 + 7(3) = day 26 6th of the month-- 6 + 7(3) = day 27 7th of the month-- 7 + 7(3) = day 28 7 total possibilities |

I stucked at first sight, too.
But if i have no time to do it, i'll guess by the methods below 30 days have 4 week, and 1 week has 7 days, so possiblities should be 7. (it's not good method, if you know how to beat it, use it. ) Last edited by benchy : 2007 August 13th at 03:57 AM. |
