This is how I did it: -10 X -1 + 1 = 11. Thus, 11 is > than 0. So A was my answer. Is that correct?

The length is greater than the width by 1 foot. Hence, 2(width +1 + width) = 10.
Therefore, width = 2 and length = 3. hence, the area of the desktop is 3*2 = 6. And so, column A is greater.

2.

Well, you just need to know that there are 10 integers between -10 and -1. The product of an even number of integers with the same sign is always positive. Hence, column A is greater. You do not need to actually carry out the multiplication.

3.

Since q is positive, we cancel it from either side. Now, we compare 1 and 1/p. Since 0<p<1, 1/p is obviously greater. hence, column B is greater.
