scoring descrepancy on verbal PP v. paper tests

I have been getting 680-740 on old ETS tests from 10th ed. On pp i got 580-600. Why do you think there is such a difference? I have also been getting reading comp ?s wrong when i rarely do on paper tests. Any advice? does anyone else find this?

Hey, I think I did not get clearly what you wanted to convey by that post...
However, I think that you are saying that you have a discrepancy between scores in paper-based tests (RCs) and computer-based PP. I feel this is a common problem with many people. I think you should eliminate the choices on your scratch paper and then click on the choices on the computer screen. Also, reading from the computer screen is markedly different from reading from paper (and you can mark important sentences with a pencil on paper - there's no such thing on computer)..
If this isn't what you were asking about, do post your query again and in clear terms so ppl may help you ...

pp is adaptive, so missing an easier question can hurt you more than if you were to miss an easier question on paper-based. on paper-based, all questions are equal.

i think you might want to try practicing more difficult RC passages? also, like pheonix said, reading from a screen is much different than from paper, so try to practice reading from a screen from online sources like the wall street journal.

other than RC, is there much difference in the rest of the verbal section, i.e. paper vs pp?
