3.noting that few employees showed any----for complying with the corporation's new safety regulations, peterson was forced to conclude that acceptance of the regulations would be----, at best.

(e) enthusiasm.. grudging

Here it apparent that first blank is positive one, because few employees are positively compiled to obey corporation's new safety regulations. So, A.aptitude (fitness) is not make sense. 'forced to conclude' is the master clue phrase, for me, for this SC. As peterson concludes something, it cannot be indeterminate. So, eliminate B. An occurrence or regulation can be negotiable when a good number of people like to obey this. Thus eliminate C. And for D, 'imminent' (impending or approaching) is not possible, as few are positive toward the new regulations. So, it must be grudging (unwilling or reluctant). Hence, it must be E.

4.n many science fiction films, the opposition of good and evil is portrayed as a----between technology, which is----, and the errant will of a depraved intellectual.

(a) fusion.. useful (b) struggle.. dehumanizing (c) parallel.. unfettered (d) conflict.. beneficent (e) similarity.. malevolent

Here opposition of good and evil indicates there must be some disputes among the two extreme sides. So we can readily choose B and D, eliminating others. As good and evil are opposite, and for evil it is said that the errant will of a depraved (corrupted) intellectual. Hence, beneficent is the best for second blank. dehumanizing is not make sense here. So, the answer is D.
