Three sentences????

A. disseminate… supposition B. withdraw… evidence C. undercut… caprice D. document… conjecture E. downplay… facts The OA is C, but I think the D would be better, because the initial report which is based on the conjecture should be documented. 1. Contemporary lawmakers’ preoccupation with regulating the Internet is ______ the way lawmakers treated many young industries in the past; United States railroads, for instance, were in business for 60 years before the federal government______regulations. (A) antithetical to……….eased (B) faithful to……..levied (C) reminiscent of……..enforced (D) in conflict with ….lifted (E) at odds with…….introduced 1. (A) inexplicable……..flouted (B) unclear……….publicized (C) predictable……….scrutinized (D) declining…….ignored (E) surprising…..enforced The OA is C, but I think the D is correct. Someone give me a clear interpretation. |

7. The research committee urged the archaeologist to ____ her claim that the tomb she has discovered was that of Alexander the Great since her initial report has been based only on ____.
A. disseminate… supposition B. withdraw… evidence C. undercut… caprice D. document… conjecture E. downplay… facts ignorant of the actual elements in the sentence, C and D are both plausible; however, when it comes to archaeology and tomb discovery, document doesn't fit, instead, objective or field discovery is better. Another example : Since autochthon's hieroglyphs are elusive and data provided by former workers are ____ , historians have to go back to ____. A inaccurate, perspective B lost, digging despite of what aspects the sentence is about, both A and B is plausible, but, to hieroglyphs, perspective is better than digging, just like this one. 1. Contemporary lawmakers’ preoccupation with regulating the Internet is ______ the way lawmakers treated many young industries in the past; United States railroads, for instance, were in business for 60 years before the federalgovernment______regulations. (E) at odds with…….introduced(A) antithetical to……….eased (B) faithful to……..levied (C) reminiscent of……..enforced (D) in conflict with ….lifted scrutinize again, "in business for 60 years before" means different with the situation of Internet. 1. The profits that the corporation earns from the exclusive-supplier agreements with the universities are______, because the terms of agreements that they are inclined to protect the universities’ interests are generally______. (E) surprising…..enforced(A) inexplicable……..flouted (B) unclear……….publicized (C) predictable……….scrutinized (D) declining…….ignored generally and ignored seem to me just don't match. and the first blank should be something of the future rather than something on-going. |

for the first one...I found another :
Research group has asked her to ___ her detailed arguments, since her conclusion was based on ___. A testify data B document conjecture C realign imagination D overset investigation E rollback feedback And OA is B , document and conjecture Better check your OA, if credible, I think merely analyzing the logic of the sentence is not enough... a comprehension of the real meaning is also required... |
