to simplify the sentence, X caused them to think about the human Y.
can equivocations cause them to think about human subtelities ? equivocation = Falsification by means of vague or ambiguous language what is subtle about this ? nothing. on the other hand, failures can cause them to think about human efficacy. efficacy = Capacity or power to produce a desired effect enjoy!! |

a.difficulty..origin b.meaning..supremacy c.complexity..reality d.equivocations..subtlety e.failures..efficacy. not sure ....but had it been something like theories instead of attempts..then equivocations might have been better. so i think D gets eliminated.can attempts be equivocal?? someone plz help....
