D,D,A.
Q1 is weird with the word afflictions. Sounds like masochism. Is there a problem with Q1 and Q3? I thought Q1 would be better if it reads: 1. For some people enjoyment is a(n) -------- experience. Their mind gets really ignited by afflictions, which ---------- REFLECT THEIR FEELINGS. I thought Q3 would be better if it reads: --------- is a quality that results in ------- endearment since it seems TO BE covertly admired by the majority. |

Answers:B,D,B
1. With choice B:The first part of Q1 says for some, enjoyment is a passive experience. It becomes paradoxical because these people enjoy the active state of mind as in sufferings i.e., they experience enjoyment when their mind is not passive or in other words enjoyment is not a passive experience.Others choices are not as appropriate 2. I think this is more straightforward 3. With Choice B: I agree the question could have been worded better. The word "covertly" in the latter part of the sentence suggests that it is not an openly approved quality ruling out A, C and D. Between B and E, E can be ruled out on the basis that you cannot say that the admiration will be definitive based on what is given but at the same time B is more plausible because what people think in their mind is the true reflection of their feelings and this is supported by the sentence. |
