I'm guessing that you're confused between the meanings of arduous and convoluted. arduous means requiring great effort, while convoluted means hard to understand.

Tasks can't be convoluted, but they certainly can be arduous.

. Yes, I was confused with ardous and convoluted . Now it is clear. ( but the answer given is convoluted--may be some error in the answer key)
