1. The influence of the "Timaeus" among early philosophical thinkers was・・・・ if only because it was sole dialogue・・・・・in EUROPE for almost 1,000 years.
a)pervasive・・・available b)inestimable・・..suppressed c)unnoteworthy・・・・ abridged d) underestimated・・.studied e)circumscribed・・・translated In fact, I don't understand phrase "if only because", what does it mean? and does it support or is it just a condition for the previous clause ? The usage of sole here is also confusing to me, does it mean "only", "alone", or "mere"? Thanks |

think your answer is A) The book was influential among the philosophical thinkers at least because it was the only book avilable in Europe for 1000 years, the sentence implies that book's availability is the least reason for its influence..hope make sense
