3. Even after・・..against the・・.of popular sovereignty were included, major figures in the humanistic disciplines remained skeptical about the proposal to extend suffrage to the masses.
a) recommendations・・..continuation b) safeguards・..excesses c) arguments・.introduction d) provisions advantages e) laws・..creation The answer is B . frankly, I don't understand the meanings of "safeguards" and "sovereignty" in this sentence. I also see E sound ok. What do you think? |

the answer is clearly B why? Even if you do not know the meaning of "safeguards" and "sovereignity", major figures in humanistic disciplines were sceptical about the right of the masses to vote, so in blanks should be something which is opposite of the scepticism of the figures mentioned afore. You have also "agains" between the two blanks which shows that both words should be with opposite meaning too, so B make sense now ..think
