Well i think since they have explicitly mentioned his age then its got to be the

key word here... so maturity seems the right answer and even if u go by your intuition, u will realize straight away the answer has got something to do with the age.

what nobody would think of denying.. implies that that particular character is an obvious one. so at an older age maturity is the most expected character.. which is actually a dubious (doubtful) distinction for Romero.
