Re: Flash Cards

hmmm ... well, flash cards are card board (hard material paper) in which come in couple standard sizes, colors, and format.
the ones i prefer are the ones that are as big as the palm of your hand, blank on one side, and single lined on the other side.
I write the word on the blank side and the definition (and anything else) on the other side .. hope this clears things up .

Re: Flash Cards

I understand flash cards are more for the development of kids. What's the application for adults? Anyone knows?

Re: Flash Cards

yeah, It is really clear here. You can use plash cards when you are in a bus, MRT or even in your toilet, whenever you are free. It likes a sort of remembering without brain. You browse the cards, watch the word in one side, then, turn to the other side to see the definition. You can easily remember the word without concentrating too much like usual. It is commonly the advantage of using them. But not that every one use them will tackl the task successfully. It also depends on you propotionally.

well d basic use of flashcard is:

wen v r learning words, u tend to forget it..so flashcards are used... a flashcard can be a cardboard type material in whch on one side u write d word and behind u write down d meanin of tht word. u cn also include a sentence in whch u cn recollect tht word easily with d meanin..

Instead of using a cardboar type material, we cn make use of a simple paper..make small chits of that paper and follow d same procedure as i hv mentioned...

Believe me i have given GRE and this flashcards made by us really helps in remembering d words whch v tend to forget....

all d best

ncy111 is on the way!
in short, a flashcard is just a card with the vocabulary word on one side and the definition (or the word used in a sentence) on the other.

if you're interested, here's a link to some online flashcards

have fun...

Flash Cards

Hello -

I got a great book from Borders that has saved me the time and effort required to make flash cards. I think it was made by Kaplan, and it was a book made of perforated flash cards with GRE words already printed on them. I just tore them out and started studying like crazy - this was a real time saver, and the book contained about 600 vocabulary words that frequently show up on the GRE.

Hope this helps!
