Re: How to guess new words when taking GRE?

I thank you both on the useful guidance!

The reason that I mentioned the above strategy is that I have discovered (apparently it is not such an invention after all!) a pattern that appears often in ETS questions. I guess that is what they call ''educated guessing'' and as Zorrillo mentioned ''otherwise ETS would ask anything''. Thanks on your answers.

Odyssey Think SAT is on the way!
Re: How to guess new words when taking GRE?

You have to remember that blank questions at the end of a section (i.e., not finishing a section) have double the weight of an incorrect answer in the middle of the section. So you really need to finish that section off, even if it means randomly selecting answers for the last couple or last few.

Econ and Zorillo, that is an interesting strategy that I did not know about.

Re: How to guess new words when taking GRE?

hiii friends, i just need to know how about to guess words that look very similar in meaning but differ when it just fits in the sentence. it's like guessing two equally likely words. It's also difficult to master all the roots and can you provide a solution to this one.
