Lightbulb What A Coincidence

Hai kirti,
I am also going to give the GRE after 2 monthes.
I finished the barrons superficially.Yesterday i had a test my verbal score was very less 300.I suggest u to finish BARRONS FIRST.
Then go for kaplan.
I am open to any suggestions from u.

Thumbs up Just Practice making Associations

Hai friends,

i am again revising barroins word list now, But now I am feeling very easy.I suggest u who want to improve the vocabulary , just make a example which can be remembered.Make an example, associate with a picture or well known thing /person.
Ex:PARVENU: LITERAL MEANING IS A PERSON WHO HAS DEVELPOED WITH OUT PUTTING MUCH HARDWORK OR BY SHEER LUCK.
I associated with a person well known to me who had earned a lot of money just by his fate/luck is good.
Surreptitious:secretly
Our honorable P.M is some what surrepttitious in the nuclear energy issue with the U.S.
I hope now, i am clear to u.The above mentioned meaning r not exactly given in barrons, or Dictionary.I want to remember the words in a very short form.

All the best

thats a good one srisri.....yeah i kinda use ur method too...but with a slight variation....i associate the word with something or someone with a name that kinda coheres with the word....eg "menstruating mensura"....(ahem!!!)....."listless lisa"....etc..u get the idea!!!..that really helps recalling the meaning....hope i am clear.....anyways...tc buddies...lucks...

cheers....

i think a very nice way to revise words is to read stuff like the new york times and washington post. because you get lots of words in it that are from the GRE so they stick to your memory when you read them in context.

hello Alankriti,

I strongly believe that doing vocab using association is a must.
The suitable plan could possibly be to complete Barron's wordlist as quickly as possible, maybe within a one and a half month togather with practice of the quant section from any source you get.

Quant is like a cakewalk but verbal is where is hurts.
As you are above average with vocab doing it in this span of time i think will be ok.
Tell me what date for the test should I opt for.
I am half-through with Barron wordlist and quant is under the belt hopefully .

Bye for now.
