Does barrons sufficiently cover the vocab?

Who says that barron's wordlists are ENOUGH to score 690+ in verbal?
Verbal doesn't mean only to know the words. There's lot more. RC's plays important role is preventing the verbal score. Also you need to master in making bridge between words for Analogy. So if you know all the words in GRE that doesn't mean you will get above 690 score.

For 690+ score in verbal you have to give 23-24 answers correct(again it depends on the priority of the answers correct).
