GRE vocabulary a pain??not really...
hey every1!!Most of us in this forum keep askin HOW TO's 4 the GRE vocab section..V al hav loads of books n softwares to help but v stil get stuck during the exam..rite?
well tis is cos v al take vocabulary as an exam.. PLS don take d vocab section as a PAIN!! dats d main reason y most of us screw up in dis section!! so here it goes---my GRE is in AUG n m done wit my words a month back..its not dat i remember al d words..but i definitely remember a large chunk of it.. i had started learning the words in the last week of JAN..n wen i was learnin them i jus thot 1 thing---'these words mite help me 2 get a gr8 score in d exam but it wil also help me in d long run cos il b havin a gr8 vocabulary!! believe it o not its d attitude dat helps n not d brains always!! God has been kind 2 al of us..v al can remember a lot..say dis 2 urself.. NEVER SAY 'I CANT REMEMBER' or 'WORDS R A PAIN'..wen u curse any kind of work it "KILLS U!!!"no matter how much u try at d end u wont remember cos uv told ur brain 'I CANT'.. I did al d wordlists of Barrons n got myself a software called Wordflash which helped wit quizzes on each wordlist.. At times iv even done 4 wordlists in 1 day!! dats around 300 words..again it was only d Attitude dat helped.. i always thot these words wud b of help 2 me.. TAKE IT AS FUN!!----pls do not sit n make a time table of wat time wil u sit during the day 2 learn words n 4 how many hrs wil u learn words...believe me these time tables don work in GRE.. wenever u r free just sit down wit ur words n learn..try makin things out of these words..make anythin..funny o wtever..it helps 2remember.. don make a plan of doing 1 wordlist each day so dat u can b done wit al d words in 50 days..it does not work!! just sit wit ur book n do as much as u can!!do it til u feel its enuf n u cant grasp more!!u wil realise u r doin much better n more dan 2 wordlists each day.. Sit with ur friends n discuss these words---but in a light hearted mood..don make another time table 4 dat 2!!..jus ask ur frnds d meaning of some words n let them also ask u many...it wil help u remember much more!! it wil definitely become a FUN activity rather than a monotonous n dull activity.. tis forum has helped me a lot til date..n m expectin much more!! this was jus my experience of learnin words which i thot wud b useful 2 most.. I hope u guys find it useful..  any suggestions n questions r welcome.. |

its really a great piece of advice ,for sure ,indeed .Infact, i've a question that if you have done GRE,then Please,guide me about the list of the universities requiring GRE and the required score for admission as well ,if possible.
