Learn more words. Get word lists from Barron, Kaplan, and Princeton review and memorize. Use other dictionaries like Webster, Encarta, dictionary.com for reference as many of the definitions from these review books are somewhat concise. Group the words by definition together to help rote. Read the New Yorker as some of the words show up there. Roots help somewhat but after memorizing 3k words, most of the unknown ones can be derived by prior knowledge unless they're esoteric nouns...

Increase your vocabulary like crazy in your remaining days. trust me it'll makeyou feel sooo much better in the end. So do that everyday, make your own flashcards, lists, whatever works for you. Also i suggest going through the BigBook's list of Antonyms. Just knowing the definition of a word is not enough practice for you to figure out all the implied meanings. So attack those Antonym lists!

I know how frustrating it is for you, especially on a day where you feel like all you're doing is looking up new words and writing them down. Here's my two cents. Don't get frustrated. seriously, if you have more than a month's time, then that's aplenty. Just make sure you're constantly reviewing your old words, learning new ones, and picking up words from your practices. By the end, you'll be surprised at how much your brain can retain. Put the pressure off, learn for fun. If you get a silly word like "wax" and "waffle" make up weird images in your head. you'll remember it for sure! Other ways to remember is to make your own flashcards for sure! nothing can beat your own personalized flashcards. I never used them until gre...they are invaluable. You can take them with you, review them a few times a day, stick up on your wall/tv/door/couch. you'll start picturing all the words IN your house! To spice up the learning a little, try going through antonyms list and analogy list. that's a great way for you to get accustomed to GRE thinking AND learn new words. two birds with one stone.

Most importantly, TAKE BREAKS from verbal imbibing. It's really unheathy and emotionally stressful to be constantly remined that you don't know a lot of words that you should. So these times call for a deep breath and chillllllllllll! Only reason why i can say this now is because i went through the samething as you are now going through. And those days were the WOREST!!! So i'm passing on the experience so you can forgo that mental torment.
