Whats the best GRE prep book set ??
There are so many GRE prep books out there, I don't even know what I have to buy.
There are books for the math part only , for the vocabulary part only, I've also seen a book that gives you practice exams only and a book for strategy and tips I am really confused. These are the books Im considering to take: Kaplan GRE Vocabulary Exam in a Box by Kaplan Kaplan GRE Exam Math Workbook Barron's GRE 2009 I heard the Princeton book is not bad either. So, what's the best set ? Im currently an undergrad student and want take the exam by the end of 2009, needless to say that I want a very high grade ![]() Thanks, Roni. |

Hi Roniy, I may not be the right person to tell you which book to buy. But I can tell you that there is no "best set"!
I would suggest you take the power prep or some model exam to understand your weak areas and buy books accordingly. That would be the "best set" for you! All the best |

I agree with nimz. The Kaplan books that you mention are specialized ones focusing only on certain sections of the GRE. However, the Barron's book is definitely one that you should have, if only for its master wordlist.
You should take a diagnostic test and buy books according to your weaknesses. |

Hello guys and thanks for the responses.
I know my weaknesses, the verbal part ( vocabulary and etc.) is definitely my biggest weakness, and the writing part might be a difficulty for me. I'm pretty good at math so I want to spend less time studying the math part (even though I want to go over all the math subjects needed for the GRE-so I'll need a book for this too). As of now, I'm buying the Barron's GRE 2009, but I believe I need a few other books. I'd appreciate if someone could recommend other books, too. |

Vocabulary: Barrons
Math: Barrons and Nova Writing: Though the Writing section of Nova is relatively short but I find it useful. For comprehensive practice in (antonyms, analogy, SC and reading comprehension) this forum contains plenty of question, just search the subforums ![]() Last edited by Erin : 2009 April 21st at 09:31 PM. IN addition to the printed works, I have created a free site with a complete GRE exam (minus the written essay portion).

Not simply a book, but a CD and access to constantly updated online material. Download GRE updates and get the latest info on how the test is being revised. Access to practice tests in the book, CD, and online, as well as an online diagnostic test to identify your strengths and weaknesses.
