Topic: " The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to daily lives"

The field of history has always been a tertiary choice behind science and arts. This is because people we think history is just about wars fought and cities built. There is much beyond this in history; and there is a history for each field and each step placed forward.

Unless a scientist knows the history of the field he is working he cannot provide a better output. A stalwart in mathematics, Sir Ramanujan is a quintessential for this argument. He wasted his initial research time proving the proven ones just because he was not aware of the past. Had he known the past he could've proposed more theories. It applies for any scientific study. One may make the same mistake his predecessor did.Human being is prone to error, but once faltered it need not repeat. So, history is mandatory to avoid mistakes. It helps improve the present situation. The technological development from land connection to wireless communication has come through stages with each stage leading to the otre.

Not just science, history plays a dominant role in agricultural development. A farmer knows his land is good for wheat only after his father told. After various trials people zeroed into crops for a specific region and is fruitful till the present day. One cannot predict the outcome of a crop without going down the lane for previous results. Even climatic conditions remain the same to some extent. This helps protect people durin seasonal catastrophies. Tsunamis are so prevalent in Japan that the entire village evecuates during the particular period.Knowledge about past volcanic eruptions has saved lives of many.

History gives us opportunity to respect and hail the works of previous generations; to respect the values, culture and art of the anonymous predecessors. For example, we learn about the idea of 'golden ratio' from the paintings and sculptures of great men like Leonardo Da Vinci. The stability of colossal structures is still an enigma.

An individual may find history totally irrelevant but it is definitely a building block of society. This is clearly seen in the quest for theories to find the beginning of universe. The huge particle collider designed by the scientists of CERN to solve the mystery of universe and emphasise the verity of big bang theory stands as an example for the society's interest in history. History is a part of anybody's life; a science to be understood to have a complete package.

My friend, what I thought reading your analysis is that you just described the importance of history; as you posited that study of history is important. But the REAL TOPIC is The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to daily lives. So I thought your focus of attention was a bit tipped. Otherwise you wrote well, sentence structure is well, examples plausible. I would rate 4.5 :D
