need advise

hi everyone
i am a new member of this forum. finished giving my GRE last month.i have a score of 760 in quants(my bane) and 720 in the verbal and i got my awa scores last week. i have a grade of 4.0 and am thoroughly disappointed with it because i thought that my essay section went really well.
i aim to do my phd in microbiology and i wanted to know if awa scores make a big difference??how significant are they? what kind of weightage do university's give to awa scores vis a vis verbal and quant scores???

i am a non native speaker..my first language is not english

I would say that you're in pretty good shape. Although I don't know the schools you're applying to, most schools will "give you a break" if you're a non-native speaker applying to a technical program. And of the AWA score and the verbal score, the AWA is less important.

I hope that you can post back with your results when you get them.
