@Luma, I am sorry, that word groups are not available for free! You can check on my site for further details of that word groups at GRE stuff!!
@rose0550, You can find all softwares and practice tests on the same site I mentioned above. Again sorry they are not free and the copyrighted materials are only trial version without password. But still it has much of the things (100 MB material) for your test preparation in very low price with good support. You could get all such materials on internet for free, but you have to devote time and your research capabilities for that. Also you have to check the usefulness and trustfulness of such materials before learning it for GRE without any kind of support.

Hello All,
I enjoy learning words, its the best part of GRE. Yes, I have trouble remembering them. But one can try the following methods to remember: 1. Try to find the root word in words. Like for example: cand, cend means to burn, to shine, to glow with heat. With this root word, one can easily make out the meaning of words like: incendiary, incense, incentive etc. If you practice this method even if you encounter new word then you can try to crack it. 2. Try remembering words with help of pictures/incidents/people. This will help a lot in remembering words for long time. This is fun also. 3. Repeated revision! 4. Try to use it in day to day activities. This will give you a better understanding of the words. 5. People who have time, can try reading novels/newspaper and get accustomed to the words. ![]() I hope that was helpful. Thanks guys, this is a great forum - Madz |

@Madz
You are approaching words with full spirits what happens next that words will grow in volumes so God help you to retain the words you recently digested.Be careful from #4 your people won't comprehend what you say ![]() #5 is great, (I'm in a vacation and off GRE for a while), I just completed a novel and started another one ... it feels good to encounter GRE words in context. Good Luck! |

Find some fellow GRE aspirants to practice your GRE parlance with
![]() Write some essays, start a blog and write essays filled with GRE words..who knows maybe u'll e starting something big ![]() Something i tried to do - i used to try to write a 'V for Vendetta' kind of passage with words from a list( only the ones that were new to me). so it became peremptory for me to retain all the words in my head all at once and forced me to think about meaning, usage and context. The quote from V for vendetta i was talking about, must read for all word muggers "V: Voilą! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. [carves V into poster on wall] " Last edited by tommytommy : 2009 September 18th at 04:27 PM. Reason: Added the quote |
