Do you rush through the words or give enough time to each list?
I find that my optimal pace is a list per day (sometimes 2 if they are easier). I mark out the words I already know and concentrate on only those I know. I read the a couple of times and get an hour of rest. Then I do two tests on the words from the current list. Surely, I got some words wrong and that's why I try the tests again after an additional 1-hour break. I repeat as neccessary until I am sure in the meanings of ~90% of the words. The most important thing for me is do the test just before I go to sleep. In the morning I repeat the tests and by that time I should already know 90% of the words. Every day I pick 2 or 3 older lists on which I do refreshing tests. |

Man , u gotta be real patient to do that every single day , i got fed up on the very first day itself . It's so damn boring , moreover i am not satisfied with the meanings given in Barron , they are pretty useless so i have to lookup almost every other word in a good dictionary , takes almost 5 minutes or more per word on an avg. Damn the Barron's list

hi,
Thanks for the advice. Actually i did 1 wordlist per day.The day when i finish my wordlist i can remember 90% of the words. But after 2 or 3 days when i revised the words then i only remember 60% of the words. That's the problem. Does any one have preparation software other than GURU? Because in GURU we always get the words in same order!!! Thanks |

I actually use GURU. It helps me more than the Barron's book, probably because I don't see an intimidating wall of text...
You can have 3 different orders in guru - ascending, descending and "random" (which is not really random but still...). If you put more than one list in your tests the order significantly changes. |
